Stroopwafels!

Thanks to her, I got to try this thing called Stroopwafel and I LOVE IT! This is by far the yummiest waffle I have ever eaten. Apparently it’s eaten with coffee, but I love having it with milk! :D

HTC Hero

Tis the season for gadgets again! Actually… in my book it’s kinda gadget season all year round! :p Anyway, since we’re putting on hold plans to get a camera since the Samsung WB 1000 is yet to be launched here, the bank account currently allows for an even better gadget to replace my old-ye-faithful Sony Ericsson K750i.

I’ve always wanted the iPhone 3Gs, but I detest the fact that I’ve to switch to Maxis, as I’m already pretty happy with my current Celcom postpaid plan. I finally decided that the iPhone isn’t the phone for me when she convinced me thatĀ  it was just not worth it.

It’s over-hyped and over-priced! For that price tag, you should deserve better. Not to mention everyone already has one :D

Hence, I went on a hunt since to look for a phone that I think is truly worth its ridiculous price tag and in the end, set my eyes on the HTC Hero. Went to Low Yat on Tuesday with her to check this baby out and so far I like it very much. Prospect looks good. It retails for RM 2399 but I’m waiting for Celcom to launch this with one of its postpaid plans that will help bring the price down to a more manageable figure. :D Oh have I also mentioned that this phone is girlfriend approved? Yay!

Have I also mentioned that this phone is pretty much unique? That when everyone is using their carbon clone iPhones you can whip out the one and only HTC Hero? Stand out in the crowd, be seen! Yay!

Casio Sheen SHN-6006D-6ADR

Look who’s got a new toy! :)

I love it! Thank you so much! *hugs*

Now that I have a watch (a real, functioning one too!), not only can it tell the time, it also has:

  • Regular timekeeping of analog: 2 hands (hour and minute) and digital: hour, minute, second, pm, month, date, day
  • 1/100 second measuring stopwatch
  • Daily alarm
  • Hourly time signal
  • Auto calendar (28 days for February)
  • 12/24 hour format
  • Accuracy of 30 seconds per month (give or take)

Specifications are 36.1 x 31.4 x 8.3 mm / 76g.

Not only that, it also doubles as a pretty bracelet! Now here’s something that will definitely match the Edifice.

Did I mention that I love it? :)

Lady Sunday Afternoon

This is just a test post to test out a new WordPress plugin that I’ve just installed called WordTwit to replace TweetSuite.

Such a nice cloudy Sunday!

LX3 Sample Shots

Snagged some test shots with the LX3 while we were in Low Yat last Sunday camera-surveying. Some photos of the floors in the building, shot using max resolution, RAW and in Aperture Priority mode:

Gotta love ‘bokeh’ shots. The LX3’s F2.0 aperture certainly helps in this department:

Another test shot, this time in JPEG mode. As any usual Sunday, Low Yat is teeming with people:

Camera Shopping!

This Sunday, we’re heading off to Lowyat/Sg Wang to check out these two beauties to help me decide which I shall be a proud owner of. Currently, based on appearance alone, I’m more keen on the Samsung! :)

Panasonic Lumix LX3

Samsung WB1000

Samsung WB1000

We’ll be testing these cameras out first. Stress test by photographing us in the most colourful clothes. Then water test to check for durability! After all, what’s the point of checking out cameras when you can’t torture them first :D

*Update* Looks like the Samsung WB1000 is yet to be released here. And the successor to the Panasonic Lumix LX3 will be released soon. I suppose it means that we’re back to using phones as cameras. To all the shutterbugs out there, please don’t get an aneurysm. We’re harmless, really!

M363BK

I’ve been a fan of New Balance shoes for a long time. It’s also a really big plus that the big ‘N’ logo on all their shoes happen to be the initial of my first name. :D

Today I’m delighted to be able to add to my collection of NB shoes, an M363BK which will be used mainly for walking and casual Friday wear in the office. It’s very comfortable and lightweight, typical of most NB shoes.

Home Owner To Be…

One of my life goals is to own my first home by the age of 30. I can now check this one off as I’ve recently bought my dream home in the form of Casa Idaman, a condo currently undergoing construction, located along Jalan Ipoh, KL.

I secured a unit on one of the higher floors with a city view which is exactly what I wanted. Completion is scheduled for September 2010 and the wait is just killing me! My unit has a built up of 1062sqft with the biggest balcony of the lot. It’s got 3 rooms, 2 baths with a layout as what you can see below.

Casa Idaman - Artist Impression Type C - 1062sqft

The photos below are from the actual show unit (which is based Casa Idaman’s smallest unit - 1007sqft) that I checked out twice before finally deciding on booking a unit. The left picture is the living room with the dining hall in the background. This is where my future 52″ LCD TV (I hope) will sit along with the awesome home theater set (dreaming). I’ve got a custom TV cabinet set from Ikea that I have in mind for the living room setup. The whole living area’s gonna be carpeted of course!

The picture on the right would be bedroom 3 which I will designate as the study room that will house all the IT equipment in the house. The show unit however had the wall of bedroom 3 removed, having the whole room exposed without a door. I guess this is a trick the developer used to hide the fact that the room is quite small. It seems like a good idea though, I’m actually considering to have the same thing done to my own unit.

Left picture below shows the kitchen. Definitely Ikea kitchen cabs for me, still unsure about the colour that I want mine in, but for now white or birch seem like a good idea. Don’t think I’ll be installing a built-in ovenĀ  as I can’t bake for nuts, no intentions to learn either. I think electric stoves are the way to go these days. Saves the trouble of lugging around a back-breaking cooking gas tank up 17 floors!

Middle photo below is the dining hall. I like the glass dining table used in the show unit. I’d probably get something similar myself. Notice how the walls all around are covered in mirrors to make the unit appear more spacious.

Photo on the right below depicts the master bedroom. It’s pretty large and I really like it. The bed used in the show unit was queen sized but I intend to fit in a king sized bed instead. A built-in closet will be installed, much like the one from the show unit, sans the weird shelves that have the lamps in them. Opposite the bed will be a smaller wall-mounted LCD TV with Astro connected for some cozy late night TV watching.

Kitchen nc1196t5 Master Bedroom

First photo from the left below depicts the second bedroom which is slightly smaller than the master bedroom. This bedroom will be slightly longer in my unit. Pretty much will be sticking to what the show unit has, 2 single beds with a built-in closet. My bro will be taking this room if he decides to stay with me. The extra bed will be for a guest.

The next photo is the master bedroom bathroom. I like what was done with the show unit, but I’d probably install fully closed-up glass shower screen and lower the flooring around the shower area to prevent water from seeping into the dry area of the bathroom. I like the huge-ass mirror that almost completely covers the wall so that’s going in my unit for sure!

The photo on the right depicts the shared bathroom. Pretty small but it looks decent. I like the floor tiles used in both bathrooms, especially their texture and colour which looks really classy.

Bedroom 2 Master Bedroom Bathroom Shared Bathroom

With completion due more than a year to come, it will serve as a good time period for me to save up for all renovation + furnishing work. Hopefully if everything goes well and as planned, I’ll be having my first 2011 new year’s party at my humble new abode, watching fireworks from the balcony!
